Philipp Rastemborski discussing companies’ preparation for the UPC

The Sedona Conference

All eyes are on the countdown to the launch of the Unified Patent Court on June 1. With all the changes it will bring, the options on how companies can prepare to mitigate risks before the UPC comes into force are open for discussion.

As a member of The Sedona Conference Working Group Series, Philipp Rastemborski, LL.M. and partner at Meissner Bolte, will share his perspective in the upcoming Working Groups 9 & 10 Joint Annual Meeting in Portland, Oregon, on Tuesday-Wednesday, May 16-17, 2023.

The missions of Working Group 9 and 10 are to create guidelines that will help to clarify and guide the evolution of patent damages to encourage the law to remain current with the evolving nature of patents and patent ownership and to develop best practices and recommendations for patent litigation case management. At the conference, the teams will lead a document-based dialogue to obtain member comment and advance draft commentaries and project charters toward publication.

The Sedona Conference Working Group Series was established to pursue in-depth study of tipping point issues in the areas of antitrust law, complex litigation, intellectual property rights, and data security and privacy law, with the goal of producing high-quality, nonpartisan commentary and guidance of immediate, practical benefit to the bench and bar.
