Meissner Bolte Welcomes Dr Wolfgang Götz and Dr Stefan Abel as Partners for Patent and Trade Mark Litigation

Munich, 3 September 2025 – IP specialist firm Meissner Bolte is strengthening its nationwide patent and trade mark litigation practice with the addition of two highly respected litigators. From 1 January 2026, experienced patent litigator Dr Wolfgang Götz (60) and expert in trade mark, design and unfair competition law Dr Stefan Abel (57) will join Meissner Bolte’s Munich office from KLAKA Rechtsanwälte.

Dr Wolfgang Götz specialises in conducting patent infringement proceedings for domestic and international companies across sectors as diverse as telecommunications, automotive and mechanical engineering. He also advises manufacturers in the fashion, sports and furniture industries on trade mark and competition law. His clients include AVM – known for the “FRITZ!Box” – in patent infringement matters, and logistics systems manufacturer Witron. He also represents a global public company in employee invention matters.

Dr Stefan Abel provides comprehensive advice and representation in trade mark, design and unfair competition law, with a particular focus on protection against imitation, domain name disputes, and licensing and distribution agreements. A key area of his practice is representing French companies in trade mark and imitation disputes in Germany. His clients include French leather goods brand Longchamp, renowned outdoor furniture designer Lafuma Mobilier, and leading French perfume labels.

Dr Abel regularly serves as an arbitrator for domain name disputes at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva and has repeatedly lectured at the International Intellectual Property Institute of the University of Strasbourg (CEIPI).
