With the opening of the UPC on 1 June 2023 the European patent system changed significantly for the initial 17 participating EU member states. Meissner Bolte has invested many years in preparing for this milestone in European integration. Below is a brief overview of the most important points for this new patent system:
As a combined prosecution and litigation IP boutique firm with over 80 attorneys, Meissner Bolte provides advice from both experienced specialized IP attorneys as well as technically specialized patent attorneys from one source: this means we are ideally positioned to represent patent law cases before the UPC. Several of our experts were directly involved in the development of the new system and all of our attorneys have prepared intensively for this new era. Please do not hesitate to contact us with all of your questions.
“From the start we expected the UPC to be a great success and are therefore very well prepared. This expectation is fully confirmed by the more than 20 actions which were filed at the start of the system, i.e. in June 2023 - including cases by Meissner Bolte” Tilman Pfrang, LL.M., Partner and European Patent Litigator.
