Chiara Rank works in various fields of intellectual property law, in particular patent law. Her practice focuses on the technical evaluation of inventions, the preparation of patent and utility model applications, as well as their prosecution, and communication with clients and patent offices.

She also assists in appeal, opposition and infringement proceedings, in conducting and evaluating patent searches, and in preparing and reviewing translations of technical texts.

Due to her studies at the Technical University of Munich, her technical fields of expertise include chemistry, chemical engineering, process and plant engineering, and life sciences. As part of her research activities, Ms. Rank has worked extensively on energy storage in the form of thermochemical energy storage systems, lithium-ion battery technology, and reversible fuel cells. During her research stay at Chalmers University of Technology (Gothenburg), she also worked on the permanent storage of CO₂ in waste materials.

In addition, during her two years in industry with a leading international engineering company, Ms. Rank has gained valuable practical engineering experience, executing projects in the field of air separation.
